The Merryweather Heist

Instead of boarding a ship, the crew airlifts the submersible out to open water near Fort Zancudo's testing grounds, dives for the device Lester needs, and fights off a Merryweather counterattack on the way back.

Walkthrough

  1. Get the plan from Lester

    The crew regroups at Floyd's apartment to go over the Offshore plan.

  2. Fly out with the submersible

    Take the Cargobob from Sandy Shores Airfield, hook the submersible, and fly it out over open water.

  3. Dive for the container

    Release the submersible and dive to track down the container using the Trackify app.

    Tip Salvager wants the container found within 2 minutes of diving. Following the Trackify signal directly beats searching the seabed by eye.

  4. Resurface and reattach

    Bring the submersible back to the surface and hook it to the Cargobob for the flight home.

  5. Fight off Merryweather

    Merryweather sends helicopters after the Cargobob on the way back. Fight them off while the sub is still attached.

    Warning Show No Mercenary needs every pursuing Merryweather enemy dead, not just chased off. Weathering the Storm adds a 4-minute clock on top of that, so don't let stragglers drag the fight out.

  6. Land back at the airfield

    Bring the Cargobob and its cargo back down at Sandy Shores Airfield to finish the job.

Gold medal requirements

  • Salvager

    Find the container within 02:00.

  • Time

    Complete within 14:30.

  • Show No Mercenary

    Eliminate all pursuing Merryweather enemies.

  • Weathering the Storm

    Escape the pursuing Merryweather enemies in less than 04:00.

Watch out for

  • The dive itself isn't timed tightly once Salvager is met. The real pressure comes later, in the helicopter fight on the way back.
  • Letting even one Merryweather helicopter get away costs Show No Mercenary. Finish each one off instead of moving on once it's damaged.
